When we first opened Progressive Pediatric, we focused on essential therapies (occupational, physical, and speech) for children and young adults. As the needs for our basic services have increased, so has the need for additional services. Today, we offer a comprehensive set of services including academic, social, job, and life-skills training tools for children and young adults from 6 weeks to 22 years of age, all individually tailored to best prepare each person for life on their own and their level of
independence.
Almost 15 years later, we’re gearing up to make an even bigger IMPACT on our community. We are changing our name to better describe who we are becoming and what we do – while still providing the best services available from our dedicated staff.
IMPACT Tallahassee means more than simply making a difference on our campus; we will be preparing our students and clients to become the best and most independent versions of themselves in our community. As this ultimately shapes the future of the Tallahassee community, we strive to be the most inclusive and adaptable community possible.
Our mission and vision of ensuring every child has the knowledge, training, and resources to succeed in a diverse, enriching, and connected environment remains at the forefront of all we do. Our therapy clinic, academy, and preschool continue to be the cornerstones of the IMPACT mission and the Community Center will become the focal point of “why” we do everything. This interactive setting will be a “real world” environment allowing our students and the community to practice the all-encompassing skills learned here at IMPACT with the goal of change and improved education for future generations.

IMPACT Preschool was founded to meet your child’s every need. Providing an inclusive atmosphere and catching any developmental concerns early is of paramount importance. We utilize a team-based approach to programming and care. Children are immersed in daily adventures of hands-on learning experiences and opportunities that foster each child’s optimum participation and social, emotional, and developmental growth.
Impact Academy is a non-profit 501(c)3 tax exempt organization incorporated in November 2009. Our school was founded on the premise that children with disabilities and their families need one main location that encompasses quality therapies and interventions, progressive and life-skills education, and behavioral services. The goal of IMPACT is to provide all services needed by children with disabilities and their families.
Within the IMPACT Community, our goal is to create an environment where ALL individuals can learn within their individual life journey. In the IMPACT Community, individuals will obtain life skills training to be demonstrated and utilized throughout all walks of life. This training will increase the community’s knowledge, understanding, and empathy, and create a desire for change and education for future generations.
IMPACT Therapy provides a child-centered therapy approach with children birth to 21 years of age. Our interdisciplinary approach allows children the opportunity to develop and enhance developmental skills through a play-based approach while working with their therapist in an inclusive and nurturing setting. As a team, the therapists collaborate with families, teachers, and fellow therapists to ensure that developing skills are carried over into their natural environments into a variety of settings.
