About IMPACT Therapy

An individualized, child-centered approach to helping kids achieve their full potential.

At IMPACT Therapy, we offer physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, music therapy, art therapy, and applied behavior analysis.

IMPACT Therapy provides a child-centered approach to therapy with children aged birth to 21 years of age. Our interdisciplinary approach allows children the opportunity to develop and enhance developmental skills through a play-based approach while working with their therapist in an inclusive and nurturing setting. As a team, the therapists collaborate with families, teachers, and fellow therapists to ensure that developing skills are carried over into their natural environments into a variety of settings.

IMPACT’s therapists have a variety of unique skill sets and certifications to address all needs. They attend ongoing continuing education and professional development classes to provide current and evidence based therapy interventions and techniques.

Occupational Therapy

Pediatric occupational therapy helps children gain independence within their daily environments through development of self-care, fine motor, sensory motor, and visual motor skills that children need for participation in age appropriate play, socialization, and school related activities.

Physical Therapy

Pediatric physical therapy helps children improve their range of motion, strength, flexibility, and movement patterns to improve the child’s ability to move their bodies during everyday activities.

Speech Therapy

Pediatric speech therapy helps children communicate effectively by assisting with the improvement of their verbal and non-verbal language skills. Speech Therapy also supports feeding and swallowing abilities. These interventions assist in improving a child’s global interaction skills within their various environments.

Applied Behavior Analysis

IMPACT’s behavior support team is comprised of Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) and Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) to deliver quality services that create lasting behavior change using the science of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). We support children and their families in strengthening positive behaviors and decreasing problem behaviors. This includes direct intervention, caregiver training, teacher education, and collaboration with other therapy providers to encourage generalized behavior change in all environments. Each learner’s programming is a reflection of their individualized needs determined with direct and indirect assessments.

I can’t say enough great things about The Summer Escape program! Trusting people when you have a child with special needs is often a scary thing. You want to make sure the people surrounding your little one are kind, caring, and able keep them safe. We are so lucky to have found this program and love all of the people who help run things.

The most comforting aspect as a parent, is knowing that my son is in an environment where he can learn and is understood. I am very thankful for the school's mission to educate kids with learning differences and the teachers and administrators that make this happen every day.

We struggled with the school placement decision, because we wanted to find the right school that would be a good fit for our son. I am so glad that we chose IMPACT; they are so helpful, caring, and understand my son’s specific needs. They have accommodated his needs on so many levels, which I believe would have been unmet at other schools.

Our son has a rare genetic syndrome, delayed development and learning disabilities. We have been bringing him to IMPACT Tallahassee since he was 1-year-old and he will soon be 10. The staff in the office, the teachers, the aides are all amazing with the children; I'm very impressed with their professionalism and compassion. I personally recommend IMPACT to people on a regular basis.

IMPACT Tallahassee and their staff have become such an important part of our lives over the last 9 years. We couldn't imagine not being there on a weekly basis.
