Supporting families through the development and reinforcement of positive behaviors.
IMPACT’s behavior support team is comprised of Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) and Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) to deliver quality services that create lasting behavior change using the science of applied behavior analysis (ABA). We support children and their families in strengthening positive behaviors and decreasing problem behaviors. This includes direct intervention, caregiver training, teacher education, and collaboration with other therapy providers to encourage generalized behavior change in all environments. Each learner’s programming is a reflection of their individualized needs determined with direct and indirect assessments.
If your child has been referred for ABA, IMPACT Therapy will request the Comprehensive Developmental Evaluation (CDE) noting formal diagnosis before services can begin. If your insurance is Medicaid, the CDE must be completed by a neurologist, psychiatrist, psychologist, or developmental pediatrician.
What should you expect during the evaluation process?
-
All intake documents provided by IMPACT should be completed in full prior to requesting an initial assessment. This includes additional requested documents from other providers, such as the CDE.
-
The BCBA will request an initial assessment through your insurance. Once approved, the assessment will be scheduled.
-
At least one caregiver must attend the assessment with their child.
-
Once the assessment is complete, the report will be compiled and sent to caregivers for approval and signature.
-
Once IMPACT Therapy receives the signed report, it will be sent to insurance for authorization for recommended therapy hours.
-
Following authorization approval, the patient will be placed in a permanent weekly therapy time slot or on the waitlist
